Lancaster man imprisoned for looting Lockport house

LOCKPORT - A Lancaster man who stole more than $17,000 worth of property and fixtures from an abandoned house in the City of Lockport was sentenced Wednesday to 16 months to four years in state prison.

Andres R. Moore, 32, of Brandel Avenue, last year pleaded guilty before to third-degree grand larceny and was admitted to a court-supervised drug treatment program, but he flunked out of that program.

At the time of the plea, Moore agreed to pay $17,140 in restitution for the copper pipes and other property he took from the house on Prospect Street in Lockport during a three-week period in November 2015.

State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. also gave Moore a concurrent one-year sentence in a separate case in which Moore violated a restraining order a Town of Lockport woman obtained against him, according to Niagara County Assistant District Attorney Lisa M. Baerhe.
