Authorities are continuing to search for the man who stabbed a woman leaving an Alden church Tuesday morning.
A spokesman for the Erie County Sheriff's Office said in an email Wednesday that detectives are continuing to investigate but they obtained no additional information or description of the suspect after interviewing the victim.
The victim was unable to provide further details, Sheriff's Office spokesman Scott Zylka said. He declined further comment on the circumstances surrounding her interview.
The suspect was described as a white man in his 30s. At the time of the attack he was said to be wearing a gray hoodie and a black hat.
The attack happened outside Town Line Lutheran Church as the woman was leaving a meeting at the church.
"We believe this was a very targeted attack," Zylka said.
The victim suffered a non-life-threatening stab wound to the abdomen. She told investigators she believed she was being harassed and stalked, but did not know the identity of the attacker.
Tuesday's attack led to some nearby schools going into lock out mode. Alden schools canceled afternoon buses because of the situation.
The Rev. Serena Mollenkopf-Grill of Town Line Lutheran declined to comment Wednesday on the stabbing.
