David S. Mingoia has held the title of interim executive director and chief financial officer of the Amherst Industrial Development Agency, but that is about to change.
The board of directors of the IDA plans to remove the interim tag when it meets Friday.
Mingoia has held the position on an interim basis since April 15, when James J. Allen retired after 36 years overseeing the agency that grants tax breaks to construction projects in Erie County's largest town. Mingoia previously served as the agency's deputy director.
Allen was an outspoken advocate for growth during his tenure with the IDA, and that sometimes put the agency at odds with the Erie County IDA. And in recent years sentiment in the town has turned against rapid, unfettered development.
The board on Friday will vote on a two-year contract, dated Dec. 2, that would take effect immediately, according to a resolution posted on the IDA's website. The contract has an automatic renewal for a third year.
Terms of Mingoia's employment agreement with the board were not included in the resolution.
