North Tonawanda seeks applications to fill Common Council vacancy

NORTH TONAWANDA - The city is looking for applicants for an open seat on the Common Council, created by the resignation of Alderwoman at Large Catherine G. Schwandt, which takes effect Feb. 1. Schwandt is leaving to take a job with the New York Power Authority.

Any North Tonawanda resident over age 18 may apply for the appointment by submitting a resume to City Clerk-Treasurer Daniel R. Quinn's office by 4:30 p.m. Jan. 20. The Council will hold interviews Jan. 31 and vote on Schwandt's replacement Feb. 7.

The appointee will serve through the end of the year. Voters will fill the position for a full two-year term at the November election. Prospective applicants with questions may call Quinn at 695-8555.
