NIAGARA FALLS - Applications for permits to sell Native American crafts in Niagara Falls State Park are available for 2017.
Six names will be drawn for permits in a lottery at 10 a.m. March 17 in the Orin Lehman Visitor Center. Applicants must be present to be selected.
State parks spokeswoman Angela Bert said the parks receive approximately 20 to 25 applicants each year for the permits. Permit holders sell handmade Native American crafts in a designated area off of the trolley path, near Prospect Point.
Applications are available at the Niagara Falls State Park Regional Administration office in Prospect Park, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Fridays or online at nysparks.com.
