NIAGARA FALLS - Bassmaster Elite pro Mark Menendez will be among the speakers featured at the Greater Niagara Fishing and Outdoor Expo on Jan. 20-22 at the Conference and Event Center, 101 Old Falls St.
Menendez, of Paducah, Ky., has fished in 214 Bassmaster tournaments. A regular on the tournament trail for 26 years, he's captured first place three times, second place once, third place twice and placed in the Top 10, 22 times - with career earnings of more than $1.25 million. He is slated to again be a competitor in the Bassmaster Elite series in 2017.
The 52-year-old angler is familiar with the waters in Western New York and will present a seminars on " Great Lakes Power Fishing Tactics" and "Finesse Fishing for Great Lakes Smallmouth" at noon Saturday, Jan. 21 and 10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 22.
Menendez has called the waters around Buffalo "a smorgasbord of game fish" and said they hold more giant smallmouth bass than any other place in the world.
The expo will include seminars on other varieties of fish, as well as electronics and rigging, and expert talks on kayak fishing and tributary fishing. Nearly 130 seminars will be offered over the three-day event. A complete list is available on the Niagara Fishing Expo website.
Admission is $10 per day or $20 for a weekend pass.
