Power back on for customers in suburbs affected by outage

Power was restored to 1,450 customers of New York State Electric and Gas just before 7 p.m. Tuesday night, according to utility spokesman John Carroll.

The outages in the Town of Aurora, the Village of East Aurora, and the towns of Alden, Lancaster and Marilla were first reported about 4:30 p.m.

High winds and rain caused a defective insulator device to shut down power to those customers, Carroll said.
