HOLMES - Lance Of East Aurora. It is with profound sadness that the Holmes family shares the news that Lance Holmes passed away on December 27, 2016 at the age of 39. Lance was the beloved owner of Wallenwein's Hotel, a tavern in East Aurora, New York that has been in the Holmes family since 1970. Lance touched the lives of countless people with his endless supply of humor, generosity, and kindness. He was a staunch Yankees fan and renowned "life of the party"; East Aurora will never quite be the same without him. Lance is survived by his father, Walter Holmes ("Stubby"); mother, Debbie Cudmore; stepfather, William Cudmore; sister, Tabitha Holmes, and her husband, Chirakkal Easwaran ("Ish"); sister, Stacey Holmes; aunt, Deborah Grew, and her partner, David Slosson ("Doc"); his aunts Candy Brown, Jeri Wagner, Sheri Ventri, and Tracey Coe and their families; his niece and nephew, Zoe and Max Boon; and his new puppy, Rosie. invited to visit COMFORT FUNERAL
HOME, Inc., 6469 Olean Rd., South Wales, on January 2 from 2-4 or 6-9 PM. A service will also be held at COMFORT FUNERAL HOME, Inc. at 10 AM on January 3, followed by a celebration of Lance's life at the American Legion in East Aurora at 12pm. Flowers are kindly declined in lieu of donations to the Boys and Girls Club of East Aurora. Words cannot convey how much Lance will be missed; he will never, ever be forgotten.
