Two men rob Buffalo cabbie at gunpoint

Two passengers robbed a taxi driver at gunpoint early Friday, making off with about $70 and a cell phone, the driver told Buffalo police.

The driver said he answered a call to pick up the men in the 100 block of Grant Street on the West Side and drove them to an address on Sussex Street, which is near Erie County Medical Center.

There, one of the men pulled a gun and both demanded his money, phone and keys, the victim told officers. Police later located a witness on Grant Street who said he had allowed someone to use his phone to call for a taxi.
