Jamestown police chase down man with loaded gun

JAMESTOWN – A Buffalo man was charged with criminal weapons possession following a foot chase Thursday with police officers in Jamestown.

Officers tried to stop a car on Crescent Street on a vehicle and traffic violation shortly before 2 p.m., when the driver of the vehicle got out and ran, police said. Officers quickly caught Kori D. Robinson, 19, and discovered he had discarded a loaded handgun during the foot chase, police added.

The recovered 9 mm handgun had been reported stolen in a burglary in October, according to police, who also charged Robinson with criminal possession of stolen property and with obstructing governmental administration. Robinson was taken to the city jail to await arraignment.
