Fieldbrook Foods, the private label maker of ice cream and frozen novelty treats, has finished a $4 million expansion to increase production at its Dunkirk headquarters that will see the company add 61 full-time jobs. The expansion also retains 586 full-time jobs there.
The company bought new machinery and equipment to add two new production lines to manufacture specialty ice cream products at its 234,000-square-foot facility at One Ice Cream Drive in the City of Dunkirk, according to the governor's office. Empire State Development supported the project by providing $400,000 in Excelsior tax credits.
Fieldbrook is one of the largest ice cream facilities in the country with 32 production lines capable of producing 25 million gallons of ice cream annually, along with 120 million dozen frozen novelties. Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul and other elected and company officials announced the news Thursday in Dunkirk.
Fieldbrook's products include ice cream sandwiches, cups and cones, as well as ice cream made in various flavors and packaging forms for retailers, contract manufacturing customers and food service operators in all 50 states, Canada, the Caribbean and Mexico.
