Niagara Falls woman charged with DWI after crash

NIAGARA FALLS – City police on Monday night charged a 23rd Street woman with driving while intoxicated after a two-car collision on Orleans Avenue.

A witness told police she saw a car turn from 24th Street onto Orleans at about 6 p.m. and then swerve into the oncoming lane and sideswipe another vehicle, according to a police report.

Bobby Jean Granton, 55, stopped her vehicle facing west in the eastbound lane of Orleans Avenue. She failed several field sobriety tests and registered a blood-alcohol level of 0.16 percent, the report said.

In addition to the DWI charge, police also ticketed Granton for making an unsafe lane change and illegally standing in the roadway.
