Pawn shop bandit sought by Niagara County Sheriff's Office

NIAGARA – The Niagara County Sheriff's Office Saturday was seeking the identity of a man who on Friday robbed the People's Casino Pawn Shop, 2577 Military Road, Town of Niagara.

The incident occurred about 6:30 p.m. when a man entered the store and sprayed the owner in the face with pepper mace. The suspect, described as a black man, about 6 feet 2 inches tall, wearing a dark colored hoodie, gray sweatpants, a red and white knit cap and a light-colored scarf covering his mouth was reported to have left the scene, headed towards Niagara Falls in a silver or gray, older model SUV.

Anyone with information is advised to call Sheriff's Investigator Brett Thompson of the Criminal Investigations Bureau at 438-3332 during business hours, or at 438-3393 anytime.
