Catching up on more things I missed while vacationing on a Florida beach:
Lake View Family Wins ABC’s “Great Christmas Light Fight”: Since the Field family won $50,000 in an episode of the Christmas display competition, I’ve had several readers ask me where it is located so they can drive to it and see it.
I don’t normally print addresses without permission and reached out to Larry Field to see if it was OK with him. He said it was fine. The address for the display is 1662 Schoellkopf Road, Lake View.
But be warned: Larry Field said the line to view the display can take as long as 45 to 60 minutes.
By the way, the entire Field family team includes Larry’s twin brother, Dennis; their father, Larry Sr.; Larry’s wife, Janelle; Dennis’ children, Alex and Corey; and Larry and Janelle’s children, Kaleb and Taylor.
Speaking of holiday traditions, WBBZ-TV is presenting the Christmas “Yule Log” from 8 p.m. Christmas Eve to 6 p.m. Christmas Day. It is being sponsored by a local restaurant.
Finally, I went to see "Collateral Beauty" while on vacation and feel it is my duty to warn you not to make the same mistake. I’ve always been a fan of Will Smith since he became a star on NBC’s “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”
I’m a sentimental guy, as you probably realize from my love of NBC’s “This Is Us.” But “Beauty” didn’t hit more at all emotionally. The most interesting thing about the film was that it was at least partially bankrolled by Steve Mnuchin, Donald Trump’s nominee for secretary of treasury. He was listed in the opening credits as an executive producer.
