We have another Festivus miracle on our hands.
The third annual "holiday for the rest of us" celebration (as Frank Costanza so put it) will make its return at 8:30 p.m. Dec. 23 in Hydraulic Hearth (716 Swan St.).
Based on the fake holiday created on the popular show "Seinfeld" (the show's answer to the commercialism of the Christmas/Hanukkah season), the Larkinville hot-spot will feature a number of Festivus traditions including its own aluminum pole, feats of strength, airing of grievances and an Elaine dance-off to boot. Food and drink specials, which cannot be complete without Snapple punch, will be available throughout the evening.
Musical entertainment will come from DJ "Puffy Shirt" Cutler as well as Shane and Tone providing holiday cuts of funk and soul.
"When you first see that aluminum pole, with its high strength-to-weight ratio...it's special," restaurant manager Harry Zemsky said in a previously released statement.
Admission to the "holiday" celebration is free. Further event details can be found here.
