Letter unfairly slams Trump as Time’s Person of the Year
In response to a Dec. 13 letter, “What will future hold for Man of the Year?” I would like to be fair to all the other Time Magazine “Person of the Year” winners.
Among them are Charles Lindbergh, Mahatma Gandhi, Joseph Stalin, Winston Churchill, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Harry S. Truman, The American Fighting-man, Nikita Khrushchev, John F. Kennedy, Pope John XXIII, Martin Luther King Jr., the Apollo 8 astronauts, Richard Nixon, American women, Ayatollah Khomeini, Ronald Reagan, Mikhail Gorbachev, Bill Clinton, Pope John Paul II, Vladimir Putin, Barack Obama and Pope Francis, to name only a few.
Sure, there are some notorious names like Stalin, Khrushchev, Khomeini and Putin on the list, but the rest are noteworthy people. To use Time’s list to slam president-elect Donald Trump by comparing him to Hitler is a terrible, unjust slap in the face to the positive personages on that list.
