Three charged with making meth in Dunkirk

DUNKIRK - Police early Tuesday charged three people with making methamphetamine in a home on Leming Street.

Dunkirk police went to the house at about 11:45 p.m. Monday because they received information about a man with an outstanding warrant from the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office. Police said they saw evidence of narcotic activity, obtained a search warrant and then found a quantity of the drug and materials to make it.

Dunkirk police charged Jeremiah Haas and Lydia Franklin of Dunkirk and Torry Kenny of Westfield with third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

A 10-year-old girl and 8-year-old boy were in the home at the time, so police also charged the three with third-degree child endangerment.

Additional charges are pending, police said.
