Power restored after outage on Buffalo's West Side

Crews restored electricity late Sunday night to nearly 250 customers on Buffalo's West Side who were without power for about 12 hours, National Grid reports on its website.

A mechanical problem was reported to be the cause of the blackout, which began at 11:34 a.m., according to the power company. Service for the area affected by outage, in the vicinity of West Ferry and Niagara streets, was restored shortly before midnight.
