Man arrested on drunk driving charges by officers responding to other call

Buffalo police officers arrested a Potomac Avenue man Thursday on drunk driving charges, while responding to another call on Germain Street, off Amherst Street, Buffalo police said Friday.

Jean Safari, 21, was stopped by officers as he was about to drive from Germain onto Amherst at about 8 p.m., according to police. Officers reported that Safari allegedly had an odor of alcohol, glassy eyes and impaired speech and coordination, police said.

Safari was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving without a license, according to Buffalo police.
