Dec. 5-17 – Beaver Island, West River Parkway, Strawberry Island and Motor Island waterfowl blinds will be available through call in only at 773-2010 from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays and Fridays. The first call-in is Dec. 2.

Dec. 7 - Eighth “2 The Outdoors” Environmental Forum to be held at Tifft Nature Preserve, 1200 Fuhrmann Boulevard, Buffalo starting at 7:30 p.m. Featured speakers will include Beaver Meadow Naturalist Mark Carra talking about bears; Tifft’s own David Spiering talking about whitetailed deer; and author Gerry Rising talking about birds. Dec. 8: Lake Ontario Trout and Salmon Assn. monthly meeting in Lockport for the group's Christmas meeting with the Niagara County Fisheries Development Board.

Dec. 10Ladies Shoot N’ Hoot at North Forest Rod and Gun Club, 6257 Old Niagara Road, Lockport starting at 1 p.m. This month’s program deals with a course on 5 Stand Shooting. Preregister by Dec. 7. Call Colleen at 628-9023 or Jacky at 909-2480.

Dec. 14 – Niagara County Federation of Conservation Club’s annual Christmas party meeting, held this year at the Hartland Conservationists Club, Orangeport Road, Gasport  starting at 7 p.m. Bring a dish to pass.
