Buffalo felon jailed following gun and drug recovery

Jesse Lewis, 46, a previously convicted Buffalo felon who was arrested after a Sept. 30 search of his North Ogden Street home by Buffalo and Lackawanna police, was remanded following his initial Federal Court  appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael J. Roemer Friday.

Acting U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy Jr. said during a court-approved Sept. 30 search officers found in Lewis' home a .32-caliber revolver loaded with six rounds and a quantity of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

Lewis was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm. If convicted as charged he faces a federal prison term of up to 10 years and a fine of up to $250,000, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Patricia Astorga.
