Newfane man, indicted in one meth case, faces another

LOCKPORT - A Newfane man pleaded not guilty Tuesday to an indictment accusing him of having more than two ounces of methamphetamine when police arrested him June 3 in a raid at a Rapids Road mobile home in the Town of Lockport.

Kevin L. Mitchell, 29, of Ridge Road, is charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Niagara County Assistant District Attorney John P. Granchelli said Mitchell was arrested again Nov. 23 in a second raid at Mitchell's Ridge Road mobile home, where officers accused him of making meth again. Also arrested was Diamond Harper, 22.

Mitchell is being held on $10,000 bail in the Newfane case and another $10,000 bail set Tuesday by County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III in the Lockport case.
