NORTH TONAWANDA - A band shell will be coming to Klimek Veterans Park on the Niagara River next summer with approval of $90,000 in funding from the Niagara County Legislature.
The permanent stage will replace a mobile structure that had been used in Veteran's Park for concerts and memorials. The project is expected to be completed by the summer of 2017.
The Legislature approved a resolution for funding Tuesday, which was supported by North Tonawanda legislators Richard L. Andres Jr., Randy R. Bradt and Kathryn L. Lance
The monies will come from the county's share of Greenway funds, provided by a 50-year relicensing agreement with the New York Power Authority. Greenway funds are provided to projects which improve access to the waterfront and improve amenities available.
