The YMCA Buffalo Niagara Turkey Trot sold out the last of its 14,000 slots Tuesday morning.
This year's Trot, the 121st annual run/walk, is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24.
The 8-kilometer race down Delaware Avenue, billed as the world's longest consecutively run road race in the nation, has sold out in recent years a week or two before race day. Registration is limited for safety and organizational reasons.
Those who have registered can pick up their packets from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Nov. 23 at the Independent Health Family YMCA, 150 Tech Drive, Amherst, just east of the Erie Community College North Campus.
Organizers continue to seek more race volunteers, Community Relations Manager Brandi Banks said Tuesday morning. Those interested are encouraged to visit the Turkey Trot Volunteers page at ymcaturkeytrot.org.
