NEW YORK – When the Sabres have a few days between games this season, they occupy them by sending players to Rochester. The carousel continued Sunday.
Buffalo sent defenseman Justin Falk and forwards Nick Baptiste and Cole Schneider back to the Amerks. Rochester plays Sunday afternoon in Springfield, Mass., against Florida’s minor-league club. It is the Amerks' third game in three days.
Baptiste has two goals in 10 games with the Sabres, taking 10 shots while averaging 8:44 per night. Schneider has appeared in two games, recording one assist and four shots with 7:48 of ice time per game.
Falk, who replaced injured defenseman Dmitry Kulikov during the weekend’s two games against New Jersey, was minus-1 while skating 13:34.
The Sabres’ next game is Tuesday night in St. Louis. Kulikov and center Ryan O’Reilly are day-to-day, so it’s possible Buffalo will make recalls Monday before flying to Missouri.
