State Police charge two in drunken driving arrests

Two people were charged by  State Police in separate drunken-driving incidents, State Police said  Saturday.

Both were charged with driving while intoxicated after they were found with blood-alcohol levels twice the legal limit, police said.

One of the suspects, police said, Jacob Smith of Amherst, no age listed, was stopped for making an improper turn on Transit Road in Clarence and not staying in his lane. Troopers said Smith posted a blood-alcohol level of .16 percent. He was released on an appearance ticket to return to Clarence Town Court later this month.

Tasheia Williams  of Buffalo, no age listed,  was stopped on Main Street in Amherst for having a headlight out, police said. Troopers said Williams posted a blood-alcohol level of .18 percent. She was released on an appearance ticket to return to Amherst Town Court later this month.
