North Tonawanda man charged after police find shotgun in car

A North Tonawanda man pulled over for speeding was charged early Thursday with possessing a loaded gun in his vehicle.

City of Tonawanda police charged Manual L. Perez, 22, of Central Lane, after he was pulled over at 4:30 a.m. on the Twin City Memorial Highway, authorities said.

Perez's driver's license was suspended for failure to answer a summons. In addition to the shotgun found in the vehicle, officers also found 11 shotgun shells in the center console, according to police.

Perez was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, driving without a license, speeding and having a loaded gun in a vehicle.
