Education Day for breast cancer set Saturday in Amherst

Although Oct. 31 was the last day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, education surrounding breast cancer never really ends. For the past 22 years, The Breast Cancer Network of WNY has chosen the second Saturday of November to present its annual Education Day for breast cancer survivors, friends and families.

The event, titled “The Emotional Journey of Breast Cancer,” will take place Saturday at Grapevine Banquets in Depew. Presentations and guest speakers will focus on breast cancer survivorship and wellness. For more information and to register, visit bcnwny.org.

“We feel that the awareness and education pieces of breast cancer should be emphasized all 12 months of the year and try to offer programs throughout the year,” Executive Director Rob Jones said. He cited the nonprofit’s monthly education seminars, Education Day, resource center, and community presentations.
