Cole Schneider is home. The Sabres can only hope he packed his goal scoring.

Buffalo recalled the Williamsville native Wednesday afternoon, and he is expected to be in the lineup when Ottawa visits KeyBank Center. It will be the third NHL game for Schneider, who played in the Sabres’ final two games last season.

Schneider could replace banged-up center Ryan O’Reilly, but he was deserving of the look either way. Schneider is tied for the points lead in the American Hockey League, putting up 15 points in 10 games with Rochester. He has seven goals and could help a Buffalo squad that has just five goals in the last four games.
