East Aurora man, 19, charged in 'accidental shooting' death in Elma

A 19-year-old man died after an 'accidental shooting' on Sunday night in Elma, according to the Erie County Sheriff's Office.

Another 19-year-old has been charged with manslaughter after the shooting on Dorris Drive, the sheriff's office said Monday.

Jake Klocek, of East Aurora, was charged with second-degree manslaughter and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, according to authorities.

The sheriff's office said Klocek shot the victim in the abdomen with a handgun.

The shooting happened at about 8:40 p.m., authorities said.

The victim, described as an associate of Klocek's, was taken to Erie County Medical Center where he died.

Klocek was remanded to the Erie County Holding Center by East Aurora Town Justice Robert Pierce, in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Scott Zylka of the Erie County Sheriff's Office on Monday evening said the shooting remains under investigation.

The identity of the shooting victim, Anthony King, was confirmed to the Buffalo News by ECMC officials Monday night.

Klocek remained in custody at the Erie County Holding Center on Monday night.
