Liquor & Letterpress is a toast to paper and printing

Local distilleries are teaming up with the Western New York Book Arts Center for a toast Nov. 5 to the arts of paper and printing.

The Western New York Book Arts Center, dedicated to all things paper- and printing-related, is holding its second annual Liquor & Letterpress event from 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 5 at the Book Arts Center (468 Washington St.). There will be live jazz, a basket auction, and an art auction by local artists.

And, of course, goodies. The event showcases tastings from four local distilleries -- Black Squirrel Distillery, Lakeward Spirits, Niagara Distilling Company and Tommyrotter Distillery. Wine will also be on hand, and beer from Community Beer Works. Gourmet refreshments will be provided by William K's, the Lodge and Raclettes.

As a bonus, people attending the event will have access to the Book Arts Center's antique printing presses to create coasters, notebooks, posters, greeting cards and more.

All proceeds benefit the Western New York Book Arts Center. Tickets are $40, or two for $65. Call 348-1430, or purchase them in person at the Book Arts Center, or online on the center's website.
