Wegmans confirms plans to expand in North Carolina

Wegmans' presence in North Carolina is growing.

The grocer confirmed it has signed a lease with Regency Centers Corp. to build a 120,000-square-foot store in Raleigh. It is its third site there, in addition to two locations announced earlier this year.

Wegmans said it is considering other sites in the Raleigh-Durham market, but was not ready to release locations or details until firm deals were made.

Wegmans announced it would move into the North Carolina market earlier this year. It has since announced stores in Chapel Hill and Cary.
