American Legion Band of the Tonawandas to perform

NORTH TONAWANDA - The award-winning American Legion Band of the Tonawandas, Post 264, will  perform a Veterans Day concert in the Riviera Theatre, 67 Webster St. at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 13. An organ concert on the Mighty Wurtlizer will precede the performance at 7 p.m.

The 85-member American Legion Band of the Tonawandas is conducted by Michael Shaw and will perform a symphonic pops program in the style of John Philip Sousa. The program will consist of famous marches such as Sousa's "Semper Fidelis" and John Williams' "March of the Resistance" from Star Wars, as well as selections from South Pacific,  Irving Berlin's "America," and other patriotic pieces.

The performance will feature vocalists Henry Pendleton and Mary Kofahl.

Reduced price tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children under 12 in the City of Tonawanda at the Tonawanda Senior Center, 33 Main St. and Frontiersmen VFW Post 7545, 110 Elgin St.; and in North Tonawanda at Mid-City Opticians, 968 Payne Ave., and Walker Brothers and Monroe Jewelers, both at 84 Webster St. Tickets are $14 at World Hollywood Entertainment in the McKinley Mall, and at the Riviera Theatre box office or at www.rivieratheatre.org.
