Niagara Falls Memorial to rededicate Schoellkopf Health Center

NIAGARA FALLS - Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center is to rededicate its Schoellkopf Health Center in a ceremony at 11 a.m. Tuesday, after $2 million worth of renovations.

The 43-year-old building now includes all-private subacute, hospice and short-term rehabilitation rooms, updated therapy areas and a redecorated administrative wing.

The ceremony will include a dedication for the "David’s Path" hospice unit, named for David Winker, a Memorial employee for nearly 47 years who died of cancer in 2013. A bicycle will be included in a display recalling Winker's habit of riding his bike to work every day from his Town of Niagara home, except in winter.
