After a successful launch of its No Boundaries newspaper earlier this month, the folks at Rise Collaborative are ready to let loose, just in time for Halloween weekend.
The Buffalo boosters, comprising founders Kevin Heffernan and Drew Brown, as well as Bridget Schaefer, are ready to throw their 90s Rise Again Halloween Bash at 9 p.m. Oct 29 in the Waiting Room (334 Delaware Ave.).
Musical entertainment will come in the form of two shots of 1990s nostalgia. Waiting Room's downstairs stage will be taken over by alt-rock tribute band Kurt & the Loders. Containing members of the Soft Love, First Ward and Sixties Future, the group has been known to tackle hits from acts like Weezer, Foo Fighters, Radiohead and Pearl Jam.
Meanwhile, upstairs in the Studio portion of the venue will be a decade-geared dance party featuring DJs Crespo Beats and Rick Jameson.
The party will feature an open bar (four hours), late-night buffet catered by Fat Bob's Smokehouse and some hefty cash prizes for best costumes.
Tickets are $45 - $55. Further event details can be found here.
