Only two dozen still without power in Erie County

New York State Electric and Gas says it has gradually restored power to almost all of the homes in Erie County and now has only 24 outages -- 16 in Clarence and eight in Alden. That is down from more than 3,000 earlier Sunday afternoon.

The utility doesn't say on its website if the scattered failures stem from high winds or from other causes. But the customers still without power should have the lights back on by 6:30 p.m., the utility says at http://www.nyseg.com/Outages/outageinformation.html.
