Anthony Easley, 29, of South Division Street, was arrested late Wednesday night by Buffalo police. He is accused of allegedly breaking into a house in the first block of Olympic Avenue about 9 p.m. that day.
Officers were told by a woman who owns the burglarized home that when she came home Wednesday night she could hear someone in her house and she ran out her back door for safety. She said saw Easley fleeing out the front door of her house, according to an arrest report.
The home owner also told officers that as Easley was fleeing he threatened to have one of his relatives beat her up if he got arrested. She also said she does not know how the suspect got into her home.
Officers were alerted to the burglary and stopped a car in which Easley was a passenger at Bailey Avenue and Eaton Street, police said. Easley was taken into custody about 10 p.m.
Police recovered a set of the Olympic Avenue home owner's house keys which Easley allegedly stole along with six bags of a white powdery substance and a packet containing a brown substance, both of which were sent for testing.
Easley was arrested on felony burglary charges. As of Thursday night Easley remained in custody at the Erie County Holding Center.
