Downtown seafood restaurant Oshun is not closing, despite a media report, owner Jim Guarino said.
The restaurant filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in August to reorganize its finances, Guarino said. But it has actually just finished the best two financial quarters in its history, he said.
“We’re actually doing well, and are not going anywhere,” he said. “These were non-operational financial issues.”
The restaurant, at 5 E. Huron St., opened in 2014. It offers an oyster bar and eclectic seafood in an Art Deco room across the street from the Electric Tower.
“Any report that we are closing is completely false,” he said.
