Letter: It’s unlikely anyone can stop our decline

It’s unlikely anyone can stop our decline

America will never be great again, not the same at least as the one the “Greatest Generation” left us after World War II. The country will continue its inevitable slide to a second-rate nation. Big government and the military-industrial complex will continue to erode our freedoms and economic prosperity. With our decline, the world will see the rise of Middle East and Far East powers. There is nothing to prevent this.

I do not support Donald Trump. How could I? But as crazy as he is, I think I understand why a significant minority of the country does. They cling to the vain hope that someone can lead a revolution that will return us to our past glory. Sad to say, it will never happen.
