Buffalo woman charged with having toddler in her custody while drinking outside social services office

A Buffalo woman faces a child endangerment charge after police said she was drinking outside the Erie County Social Services office with a child in her custody.

The Erie County Sheriff's Office responded to 43 Court St. at about 2:40 p.m. Monday for the report of intoxicated people with a toddler.

Deputies found Luanne Isaacs, 32, drunk and drinking alcohol, the sheriff's office said.

Isaacs was charged with disorderly conduct, endangering the welfare of a child and drinking in public, a violation of a city ordinance, authorities said.

Deputies released the toddler into the custody of its mother.

Isaacs was being held at the Erie County Holding Center with her arraignment scheduled for Tuesday.
