Niagara Falls police corral two teens following break-in

NIAGARA FALLS – Two juveniles arrested Saturday night are accused of breaking into the LaSalle home of an elderly couple, police said.

Police said a woman was watching television about 8:30 p.m. when she discovered one teen wearing a hoodie standing in her dining room. The teen fled out a rear door.

Police summoned to the scene found one suspect hiding beneath a pool deck of a neighboring home and the other suspect nearby.

Police said the home was entered through a side window.

Charges against the suspects, a 17-year-old Niagara Avenue resident and a 16-year-old Fourth Street resident, include fourth-degree criminal mischief, attempted second-degree burglary, resisting arrest and false impersonation. One of the suspects also was charged with an outstanding arrest warrant.
