Buffalo apartment fire leaves two homeless

A Buffalo apartment fire left two people homeless Friday evening.

A kitchen fire broke in a one-story apartment building at 584 Dodge Street at 6:48 p.m., according to the Buffalo Fire Department. The fire is estimated to have caused $10,000 in damage to the building and $5,000 in damage to the contents.

The Red Cross is assisting one adult and one child who were living in the apartment at the time, according to the report. The cause remains under investigation.
