Letter: Trump’s pride goeth before his all-too-predictable fall

Trump’s pride goeth before his all-too-predictable fall

Proverbs 16:18 in the Bible, I think, predicts who will win the presidency. “Pride goeth before destruction, an haughty spirit before a fall.”

Both major candidates are human beings, therefore have flaws.

One candidate has made a brief general apology but has never apologized for denying that President Obama was born in the United States, never apologized for insulting Sen. John McCain for being a prisoner of war in North Vietnam, or demeaning several women for their looks, weight, or mocking him (Rosie O’Donnell).

If Donald Trump had the self-awareness and humility to admit mistakes, he would have possibly made the election closer. Or even win. With a month to go, I doubt he will change. He won’t lose because of the “crooked” media or because the system is “rigged.” He will lose due to his own pride.
