MAYVILLE -- A Gowanda woman was arrested Thursday morning at Silver Creek Central School after allegedly being disorderly, authorities said.
Stephanie A. Hart, 32, was arrested at about 9:10 a.m. after Chautauqua County sheriff deputies repeatedly tried to calm her down, according to the Chautauqua County sheriff's office.
Called to the school about a behavior problem, deputies reported hearing Hart yelling and causing a disturbance in the Dickinson Street school, the sheriff's office said.
After advising Hart a number of times to stop yelling, she continued to cause a disturbance, according to the sheriff's office. As deputies began trying to place her in custody, she began physically resisting, the sheriff's office said.
Before Hart was taken into custody, she bit the arm of one of the deputies who had to be treated at a local hospital for the injury, according to the sheriff's office.
Hart was charged with second-degree assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, the sheriff's office said. She was arraigned in Hanover Town Court and remanded to the county jail here without bail pending further court proceedings.
An investigation continues into the incident.
