Motorists can expect some delays on Old Lake Shore Road as Erie County crews repave it over the next week.
Work will take place along a 1.9-mile stretch of road from Route 5 to Lakeview Road. The project involves milling the top 3.5 inches of road surface and replacing it with a 2-inch binder and 1.5-inch top layer of asphalt, according to Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz. The road also will be re-striped.
"The road work season is actually not drawing to a close in Erie County but will remain robust for as long as the weather permits. We are fortunate that October has been a generally good month for road repairs," he said.
Work began Thursday, and is expected to last about a week.
The road will not be closed during the project, but motorists can expect some delays.
