Hip-hop concert in Allentown will be fundraiser for youth homelessness

A fundraising concert supporting the effort to end youth homelessness will be held Friday in Allentown.

The second annual "Hip Hop for Homeless" fundraiser will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Theatre of Youth, 203 Allen St. It's organized by the Western New York Coalition for the Homeless.

Local hip-hop artists will perform, including DJ Optimus Prime, Chuckie Campbell & The Phaction, #GTW, Jaybyrd, Zadoc the Godhop MC and Proflic.

Tickets, which will be available at the door, are $20 for adults and $10 for those under 18. They can also be purchased online. Anyone 24 and under who participated in the coalition's "Youth Count" will be admitted free.

The event is part of a campaign by the coalition's Youth Task Force called "Be Counted... End Youth Homelessness." Funds raised will be used to support the task force, Code Blue, Project Homeless Connect and others.
