Carwash to become Tim Hortons

An East Side carwash is poised to become a new Tim Hortons Cafe & Bake Shop, after the owner won Buffalo Planning Board approval Tuesday night, but an Elmwood Village salon owner has to wait a little longer for her own addition.

Joga Singh wants to convert a one-story building at 3444 Bailey Avenue, at Winspear Avenue, just behind an existing Sunoco gas station. The 600-square-foot structure will be renovated to include Tim Hortons' facade treatments, with horizontal siding and design features. The proposed eatery will serve both walk-in and drive-thru traffic, handling eight cars lined up. No interior or exterior seating is planned. The plan easily won approval.

However, Lauren Goretti-Neri's proposal for a one-story, 400-square-foot addition to her Studio 806 Salon was tabled. Neri wants to build onto the three-story wood-framed structure on its east side, while removing the existing porch and steps and replacing them with a grade-level entry.
