A pair of new public service announcements are targeting the issue of human trafficking in Western New York.
The videos, unveiled Tuesday, were produced for the Western District of New York Human Trafficking Task Force.
One focuses on the commercial sex trade and the other on persons trafficked to perform labor.
Last year, there were more than 110 reported incidents involving 149 victims of human trafficking in the region, according to the task force.
The task force used $20,000 from a grant to produce the videos.
The trafficking task force and Greater Buffalo Metropolitan Crime Stoppers are using the Crime Stoppers' tip line as an avenue for the public to report human trafficking incidents. The phone numbers is (716) 867-6161. All calls are anonymous.
