Buffalo man facing weapon, drug charges following traffic stop

A Buffalo man was charged with possessing a loaded handgun following traffic stop Saturday on Niagara Street.

Luis Gonzalez, 28, is charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. State Police based in Clarence, who stopped Gonzalez for speeding, said they discovered a loaded .38 caliber handgun, a small amount of marijuana and pills that were not prescribed to him.

The suspect was remanded to the City of Buffalo holding center pending an arraignment in City Court. Buffalo Police assisted in the arrest.
