Traffic stop in Town of Niagara leads to drug possession charges

TOWN OF NIAGARA – A Niagara Falls man faces a felony drug charge after State Police said they found crack cocaine during a traffic stop.

Troopers pulled over Laricuss J. Nelson, 23, for a lane violation on Saunders-Settlement Road in the Town of Niagara at about 2:53 p.m. Tuesday.

Nelson, who also had a revoked driver’s license, had 3.7 grams of crack, a digital scale and a small amount of marijuana with him, State Police said.

Troopers charged him with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, unlawful possession of marijuana and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.

After being arraigned in Niagara Town Court, he was remanded to the Niagara County Jail in Lockport on $10,000 bail.
